Devices on Bt whole home

I am a Bt hub user who uses bt whole home discs to extend my network.

I am thinking about connecting a security camera to my whole home disc via a PoE ethernet switch. This would mean that it would be connected to Whole Home via the cable and not directly on my main BT hub network.

As my home assistant system is currently running entirely on my BT hub wifi, it would be important that any additional devices could be seen on the main network. Would a device, connected by ethernet cable to the whole home disc, be accessible on the parent network and thus be accessible to home assistant?

For those not au fait with bt whole home, a bt whole home disc is connected via ethernet cable to the main hub and then any other Bt whole home discs have a separate WiFi id that somehow piggybacks the main bt wifi.

My setup sounds similar and I’ve never had any problems. I have three BT Whole Home discs with two controllers (Lightwave and Wireless Tags) connected to one of them via an ethernet switch. The Raspberry Pi running HA is connected directly to the router on the parent network with an ethernet cable.

SSID and network key on the router and the three BT disks are the same, so in theory devices could connect to any of them. In practice most connect via the BT discs. They show up on the router control panel as having an ethernet connection.
