I have been using Dexcom since it was a custom configuration, now an integration. On average of once a day the integration freezes and no new data from the device is read. My only recovery is to reload the integration.
Some people have had problems with connecting when their Dexcom passwords are entirely numeric. If you have connection issues in that case, try changing your password to something with a mix of numbers and letters.
However, looking at my log for a clue, I came across this:
2021-05-02 19:39:27 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.loader] You are using a custom integration dexcom which has not been tested by Home Assistant. This component might cause stability problems, be sure to disable it if you experience issues with Home Assistant
2021-05-02 19:39:27 WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.loader] No 'version' key in the manifest file for custom integration 'dexcom'. As of Home Assistant 2021.6, this integration will no longer be loaded. Please report this to the maintainer of 'dexcom'
I began using the Dexcom component when it was a Custom Component, and a few months ago it became a supported integration- which I am using now.
However, the Dexcom folder is still in my Custom Components folder. Is it possible that this is the cause of my occasional disconnect requiring the integration be reloaded?
I’ve deleted the folder from Custom Components, so fingers crossed- the data loss hasn’t recurred. The developer is AWOL since the component became an integration.
