I am facing a problem that is not 100% related to Home Assistant. Setting up Home Assistant and also installing the DUCKDNS addon was a breeze. DUCKDNS is working fine regarding the logs. It updates the IP successfully to something in the 21… range. The problem is: my router says that my IP is something in the 100… range. And, when I try to connect to the IP that my router provides, I am just fine!! http://100.xxx.xxx.xxx:8123 brings me to the Home Assistant login screen. But, if I look up for my public IP using e.g. whatismyip.com, it says 21… just like the DUCKDNS addon is using. So, the addon is just working fine. But what could be wrong here …?
The thing is that my network can be reached from outside. I just need to use the IP address my router provides (100 range). Still, for some reason I do not know the 21x IP adress is my public IP address. Router is a Fritz!Box 7560 which can be configured to publish the „right“ IP address to DuckDNS. Still, it’s nagging me. Anybody any ideas left?
