IIRC some time ago there was a change that linked [or maybe fixed linking] the setting of themes to a user. so if user chose for example: default theme, and dark mode on desktop, on his/hers mobile the very same settings were active.
well, I was happy that it didn’t worked in my scenario 
as I like to keep those dashboards different and everything was ok during all the updates until now.
unfortunately updating to 2026.2.0, probably because all the dashboard changes in this release, triggered something and my theme settings started to sync between devices.
my question is: is there ANY way to keep those separate? I was looking at browser_mod, but didn’t find anything related [registering browsers/devices in browser_mod wasn’t reliable anyway, at east in my experience].
to paint the whole picture:
- I like my devices’ systems set to dark mode. so my desktop & mobile are set to dark. BUT, I like my HA’s dashboard on desktop to be light, and on mobile [via companion app] to be dark.
- setting to “automatic” isn’t a way to go because of above
- I am using default theme, and would rather like to stay that way
- creating different users for my desktop and my mobile is not negotiable
does anyone have any idea how to crack this nut?
