Just wanted to share my experience with monitoring different water sources.
I’ve got a setup that tracks my usage from two rainwater tanks and the tap water.
Seeing all three in one graph is surprisingly insightful!
Here’s why I think it’s cool:
Get the whole picture: Instead of just seeing tapwater use, I can understand how much water I’m actually using in total.
Track well performance: I can see how much water each well is providing and notice any changes over time.
Conserve resources: Being aware of my alternative water sources encourages me to use them more and rely less on tapwater.
Anyone else monitoring multiple sources? Would love to hear about your setups!
@Brononius very interesting indeed! How are you capturing usage of these different types? Could you share what sensors / techniques you are using? Thank you!
Basiclly I’m using 3x “Shelly Plus UNI” nodes for the usuage.
For the tapwater, with a waterprobe that fits in my utility meter. I had to move towards Shelly since Flukso (my setup before) became unstable. But works remarkable good. And much easier for configuration, just local plug and play.
And beside, I’m having pressure sensors in the tanks for the level checks. Today, they work on a KNX sensor. But one day, I’ll also migrate them to Shelly Plus UNI. Just to keep everything a bit more uniform.
