Differing backup sizes

Hi everyone, just looking for some advice, I was checking my backup settings and I noticed some discrepancy with backup sizes.

When I look at the automatic backup options, I get an approximate size of 5.7GB for the backup, however when look at the recent automatic backups created with the same settings, they are 1.7GB each. All are set to exclude media and include all apps.

When I download a manual backup, it seems much closer to the original size

I just want to ensure everything is backed up, does this look normal?

Automatic backups made when upgrading the core only backup the core. Foll backups will include all your add-ons/apps.

Still just confused as to why it’s so much smaller in size?

Both backups are compressed. That does not explain the difference in size.

Full probably includes your media folder.

You can download the backups and open them with 7zip, or winrar to see what is inside.

Full did include the media folder, which is full of frigate media, thanks for your guidance.
