I accidentaly loaded Thread onto my dongle and want to go back to Zigbee. The “official” HA support page Home Assistant Connect ZBT-1 says go to settings/ system/ hardware and find the skyconnect option to disble mutiprotocol support. The HA Green and the ZBT 1 are under the hardware tab but no mention of Skyconnect there and i can find it anywhere. What to do please?
Or can i reload the ZBT 1 firmware as factory fresh to remove the thread support? How would that be done?
The dongle and green hub have the latest firmware.
ZBT-1 and SkyConnect is the same thing.
It started out as SkyConnect and later production batches was then renamed ZBT-1, but it was only the name that changed.
Under the zbt1 configuration there is no mention of IEEE802 etc. It just has 2 choices, being Zigbee or thread. Under Zigbee it says it’s already set up as a thread unit. Under thread it says it can’t find the radio protocol. So it’s nothing like it says in the support page i am afraid. Looks like that page needs rewriting.
After reflashing and succesfully pairing my Aquara E1 TRV all was well for 12 hours and then the TRV showed not enabled under the ZBT1 device tab and could not be re-paired or re-enabled. It’s dispperance might have caused by a temporary loss of radio range.
I then disabled the ZBT1 in the device list and the TRV reconnected after i entered it’s pairing mode but this time the TRV was shown as a device under the ZHA “device/service” as was the ZBT1, and the ZBT1 freestanding device in the devices and services list has vanished.
Am I supposed to be using ZHA or the freestanding ZBT1 device to connect to other Zigbee equipment?
Separately is there a help page on how to actually control this TRV from a calender and command the boiler on when the TRV derived room temperatre is lower than the target? Presumably it needs an Automation but i am a newbie here so a help page would be useful
You’re supposed to be using ZHA if you want to view your zigbee network, set up groups and for general Zigbee config.
However, for pairing new devices you should be using the ZBT1 device (or a closer router device) by going to that device page and clicking “Add devices via this device”.
The TRV showing up as a separate device is expected and normal for ZHA. I suspect Matter/Thread might show them under the ZBT1, but I cannot confirm since I don’t use that.
