Discussions about Nibe S-series and the integration

Has anyone managed to get a SolarEdge or any solar inverter to talk to an S model Nibe system? Nibe is SG ready and I can see there are many Modbus registers for using a “Smart Energy” source…

Hi, I have a SMA Smart Energy Inverter working with my NIBE S1255. The Heat pump gets the current solar production directly from the inverter and the grid feed via S0 from the grid meter. If there is more production than consumption the heating and hot water temperatures are raised.

There is documentation on how to do this on the German Nibe Homepage but I can’t seem to find it on the english page.

I see there is also a separate application note for the solar edge inverter there.
I think these may be documents created by the German support team.

This seems to have worked perfectly. I just had to turn on modbus via the SolarEdge inverter. Thank you! I don’t have a grid feed meter that I can connect to the S325 however it doesn’t seem to need one as I can see it using the solar power…unless it’s using the Load Monitor connected in BE1/2/3? I use Tibbers Pulse meter which communicates via WiFi. I wonder if I can get the S325 to read that via modbus…or maybe that isn’t even needed? I may have found an answer here: KNV S1155/S1255 Modbus TCP - erste Schritte - Seite 36 | Heizungstechnikforum auf energiesparhaus.at

Hello
I have a S1255 that was installed in the autumn and has been working fine.
Now when weather is getting warmer the system has decided to stop heating. this is fine but i have bathrooms and store rooms that are not getting heat from outside and i would need to remotly start the GP1 pump for circulation.
Hovewer i cant find the correct register/entry in the integration to be able to start the GP1 pump.
system is working fine as it starts and making hotwater but just doesnt send any heat to the floor heating.
Anyone could point out where i could start it.
Currently not close to the installation.

As I understand you would like it to heat those rooms? I would adjust the heating curve in your system. Do you have individual valves controlling the flow to those rooms? If so adjust your minimum return temperatures and leave those valves open.

Hi,

I do not know what mode the system enters as it sets DM to 0 and calculated temperature is 10 degrees above heating medium temperature.
I cant find any information to why it decided to just stop the heating part of the system.
Is it outside temperature? Or something else.
And yes my house have both valve control on most of the rooms except for washroom and sauna where i have flow control. At current i have 3 rooms that would need the heating during night mostly.

My system is off too because of the outside temperature.

Check your Heat Supply Min and Max?

Hi
Thanks for steering me into what the solution to my issue was.
I did not adjust the min/max but i found the setting for the stop heating temperature (Auto mode, stop temperature for heating) and it was set ay 17deg, for me this is little low as night temperatures is still down to 12-14deg, and my mean temperature is around 17.5-18.5 degerees, adjusted it so my heating started. Need to monitor to find an optimal setting between comfort and saving energy.

Thanks a lot now i have heating in the shower again

Hi everyone. I am looking for a visualisation where I can track the behavior of the Nibe heatpump. I am looking for a kind of bar indicating the level of warming - off - cooling and a pointer indicating the current situation. Similar to this visualisation. Does anybody came across such a dashboard element?

Integration method: Modbus
Model:S1155

Today I noticed that my Heat pump and all entities became unavailable in HA. I can see it is connected to the network and still has it’s reserved IP address, and I know it is connected to the Internet as I can access it through the Nibe App.
I tried removing ad re-adding the integration and pump and I get “unexpected error.” Very helpful. Have restarted HA, and the heat pump, and the router.

Has anybody else had this issue recently? There have been a lot of HA core updates recently and I think from memory that in the past an update has broken this integration.

hey this is a nice dashboard, mind sharing the source?

Sure DM me. Its a bunch of various cards put together.

Hi, would love that great dashboard of yours. Can you share it with me please?

Im trying to identify if there is a way to set max hz for the compressor through your integration. Is there? Or do you have a suggestion for another solution?

I have an S1156 via the MyUplink integration. Is anybody else having issues with not being able to set the setpoint temperature? When I change the slider the value won’t update on the pump anymore. Any way to control this with modbus or the local api?

@fillwe Hi,

I use this https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/nibe_heatpump/

works well with my S1255

@wgumaa And you can change the temperature via that integration?

When I change the temperature in HA via that integration the pump doesn’t actually change its temperature setting.

I can set the minimum supply temp and max supply temp as well as heating offset.

Hi Waleed

I am looking for a nice dashboard for my S735. Would you also mind sharing the code also with me? I must admit that I struggle with the identification of some entities, though.
