Hello all there, I was looking for a “ac dimmer” to control how much power (watts) go into a 2kw boiler. I have a AliExpress controller for it now but since I am soon gonna buy a home battery and a dynamic energy tariff (living in the Netherlands). Now the controller just looks for export on 1 phase and putts excess into the boiler (500watts export → 500 watts in the boiler so export is 0). With a battery this system will not work right since they battery exports when prices are high so i absolutely do not want to heat up my boiler with that electricity. Now I saw this device and was wondering if any of you had experience controlling it, and managing it with home assistant: AliExpress: €28,59 | 10A 25A 40A Dty Enkele Fase Ac Voltage Regulator Module, Ssr 4-20mA,0-10V, potentiometer Controle

I don’t know what is “my controller”. Neither what kind of solar setup you have
I regulate my 1.5kw boiler at a precision of <5w based on excess solar. Many ways to do it.
ATM I have this controller

Just a solar excess boiler controller .
I got a 8kwp solar system oriented in 2 directions with 3 different gradients. This is hooked up to a single phase solaredge HD Wave 5000 (5kw).
The battery is going to be a Sigenergy 12kw triple phase inverter with 8 or 16kwh storage. Which I am gonna use with dynamic tariff buy and sell
Can you find any doc what control method that SSR is using? AE doesn’t mention.
If it uses phase-cut I would expect it to work for you. If it uses pulse-trains, things can get complicated.
How do you use the controller? With HA?
That was exactly the problem I was having, data sheet or any explanation is not really present on AE so I hoped anyone made something like this
That doesn’t help you, you need someone that did it with that specific SSR.
That manufacturer has hundreds of different variants but I didn’t find one datasheet.
Also, you should describe your specific approach. Do you need to control the boiler the way that utility meter doesn’t see alternating import-export or you can do it in full cycle scale?
