I use it succedfully, there is no delay.
Change throttle value in LD2412 section of yaml to 100ms, 2 seconds is far too much, that’s why it’s sluggish.
Remember this radar is very sensitive and reacts also what is BEHIND it. A small piece of metal would help as well.
I can see it is very reliable for around 4 meters (although distance is wildly inaccurate), decrease the gate to 6 and start from gate 2.
Firmware 1.25, background noise automatically performed.
Sitting 3 m away and watching TV for a few hours, didn’t lose me not once.
I was using 500ms, now I have 2 of them set at 100ms, we’ll see. I don’t see much of improvement right now, but the most problematica sensore on my bedroom got switched with a ld2410c recently, so it’s hard to me to see a real improvement
I can never get the my ESP to detect the LD2412, I tried changing RX and TX, tried other IO ports, even another device, I can connect to the device using the phone app and Bluetooth, even updated the firmware.
What about the performance in stationary object detection? My largest issue seems to be consistent with others in that stationary object detection accuracy is very spotty. When I walk into my office, my presense is detected but within 2-3 min it is cleared. I have the sensor only 2m behind me and typing on keyboard and moving my arms does not consistently update presense detection. Have you had better experience with your code vs. Screek?
I only used the Sceek’s code only for a short while, so I can’t really tell. But my code is only an updated version of the same basecode from LD2410 official component adapted for the LD2412, so the base functionality and behavior should be the same.
I myself noticed a little bit of a problem with the static presence detection, but only further away than 3M. Try to use less gate but with an lower resolution.
Like, for example, if you are using 0.3M with max distance setted to 13 gates, try with 0.5M with 8 gates
Anyone having an issue with the sensor not coming up in normal mode? Or loosing the gate setting for still gates? Both seem to be happening after an ESP compile.

Is there a specific firmware I need to use on the 2412?
Hello everyone…
I just got my first test setup up and running on a wemos d1 mini, and so far it did work right away…i went with the screek code and was wondering what actually the real difference between is, in terms of function…
And is there any reason to use the 3 pins on the one side instead of just the 4 on the other? right now i only have the 4 connected…
Thx for any intel
Hi guys. Forgive me I’m very new to this.
I’ve just purchased the ld2412s and the esp32 mini D1 and a couple of other sensors. Bh1750 light sensor as well as the bmp180 I think it is.
My problem, is that I can’t find the code to install to esp32 mini, don’t know where to start? Especially with the ld2412s as well, no code to put in the esp32 mini D1. Could someone please help.
On the other side is a Pin for using 5v Power and ground, vs the 3v Power, connect 3v or 5v not both.
The other side also has an output that is typically tied to the presence and will show in HA as a binary sensor for simple Occupied or not handy for simple automations.
