I got HA up and running on Ubuntu/Docker late Jan. 2020.
I make my own switches with ESP8266 / MQTT etc and would love a professional way to control and automate them which is why I installed HA.
All my searches point to ESPhome but I don’t have the HASS.io option on my front page. I think this is because I do not use Raspberry Pi - someone please correct me if I am wrong.
I have successfully added my cloudmqtt as an integration and it test s fine.
I added a couple of my switches to configuration.yaml and they show up on the main page and work great… really fast… They do not show up as devices or entities in the Configurations section… This seems to make it impossible to create an automation or scene… again please correct me if I am wrong…
My switches do show up in the UI Develop tools as entities like switch.bedside_lamp etc…
Is there any way to make them show as devices or any way to use them in automations and scenes??
Looking for help!!!
