I’m trying to use my DLNA server integration for the first time. When I click on the Media icon in the sidebar menu, select DLNA Servers, then select either of my servers (a router USB connected HD or a computer on my LAN), all I get is “DMS is not connected”. What needs to be fixed to stream music from either of these devices to my google home speaker (Family Room speaker/Browse media - same error). I googled “DMS is not connected” and came up dry.
Just had the same issue. Found out you need to configure your “Digital Media Server” in home assistant for it to appear. Instructions here: DLNA Digital Media Server - Home Assistant
I’m seeing the same. I have 3 DLNA servers on my network, all 3 appear on the Media tab in HA, minidlna works perfectly, Serviio and Plex just say “DMS is not connected”. Nothing to configure on the integration page.
Not sure if you have the same problem, however in my case:
I was trying to delete and re-add the DLNA Server integration, when I noticed that HA was recognizing my server with IPv6 (but not the IPv4). After digging a bit more I realized that my media server was getting both IPv4 and IPv6 (although router had IPv6 disabled… ).
Once I explicitly disabled IPv6 from the server, HA seems to recognized the server with IPv4 and play media normally as it should.
