DNS TXT Record Validation Feature

It would be nice to have the ability to use DNS text record validation for lets encrypt cert’s in the official let’s encrypt addon.

The only current validation method is over port 80 on the localhost but many ISP’s block this port.

Adding DNS txt record validation would allow those of us with our own domains to get proper certificates for or site and possibly other add-ons via SAN.

I thought the DuckDNS addon already had that feature.

I suspect that @asdf1nit is talking about the separate Let’s Encrypt addon for custom domains. It looks like it only supports http port 80 validation.

Yes that is what was meant @rccoleman. I updated my request with a few more details.

As far as I can tell, the addon still does not support txt record validation? I really would like to see this as well. You have my vote.
Until then I guess it is shell commands with certbot…?
