Does any cross vendor ZigBee solutions support re-pairing of fixed/screwed on devices in case of system failure?

Hello! I am more or less starting out with doing ZigBee seriously. I toyed around with the Ikea Tradfri stuff and liked it a lot. What I liked most is pairing of devices per remote control without having to take them to the hub.

Actually I am quite scared that I e.g. glue some ZigBee sensors to the wall, or screw on Ikea smart windowblinds, only to discover in case of data loss or some acting up of the gateway, that I must physically carry my USB stick (not a problem) together with the virtual machine/docker container (more so) to each windowblind, just to pair them again (yes, only in case of catastrophic failure, but these things happen).

Does one of the free and cross-vendor systems (ZHA, Conbee, zigbee2mqtt) support pairing by some intermediary portable device (like the Ikea Tradfri remote)?

Thanks in advance,
Ralph

Although the manual states that you have to bring the device close to the coordinator, with zigbee2mqtt you normally can pair as long as a working router is close.

Does this mean directly reachable from the coordinator, without any repeater in between?

What is the suggested way to pair a smart windowblind after it has been screwed to the wall, if it is only reachable by repeater? Unscrew it? Carry the PC running the coordinator around? Or is there some workaround without physically moving or unscrewing things?

router = repeater

Thanks, @francisp, so this is basically a non-issue in a well designed network (with enough routers around, they are cheap ayway)?

Most mains powered devices (bulbs, outlets etc.) act as router / repeaters
