For all you people not buying the roomstats due to their exhorbitant price, currently on Amazon for £38.36. Think an EU one but presume they will work with UK hubs!?
what the difference between CCTFR6400
and WN704R0S0902
is it just EU vs UK ?
This is tipical though, I just spent £210 on 3 at beginning of the month.
I’ll find out as ordered 2.
So, my cheap roomstats arrived today. They are exactly the same as UK ones, except different model number and Schneider address printed on the back. Paired with hub perfectly and working fine. Except numbers are all in French!
??
Not sure what you mean by the numbers are in French?
It was just a joke! I know its not funny if you have to explain it. So my wife tells me!
Got it now. Thought there was actually something to it.
Late to the party as ever - they are now £56.28, but that’s still a whole bunch cheaper than £89.98 for the ‘UK’ ones.
If you need others device they are available in France
specially the second generation hub …
Just spotted this on Amazon. Is it the cut down version of the Wiser Room Thermostat we have been asking for?
I believe that is the same sensor I mentioned here and @jamiebennett said does not work with UK hubs.
You are correct. This sensor only works with the hubs available on the continent.
Here is the new catalog of wiser of 2023 with the new second generation hub and all the devices compliant, available in France.
We are lucky … The new hub runs with our best-in-class integration, and has fewer wifi crashes than the hub. I use both at home.
Re editing HW schedule.
It’s been a while since I changed this and I cannot recall if I did so via the wiser app or the integration. I want to add another ON/OFF interval. When I add
to the schedule I don’t seem able to change state. So I end up with, say, two consecutive off
events. How/Can I change state? I’m up to date (v3.3.7).
EDIT: I revisited the schedules tab after clearing browser cache and it appears and works entirely differently now. So please ignore this post.
what does the HubR gen2 offer that the gen1 doesn’t have ?, I just got my HubR gen1 few months back. I don’t seem to have any WiFi issues or drop out (not that I can tell anyway)
It has all the features proposed in the hub gen1 (heating, shutters, lights, plugs) added by the capability to manage Automations , more devices like:
Window/Door Sensor
Leakage Sensor
Temperature/Humidity Sensor.
Motion Sensor
Smoke Alarm - Battery
Energy management solutions
PowerTag Energy
Connected Single Socket Outlet 16 A …
This 2nd generation hub manage also Matter.
I’m trying to work out the best way to deal with wanting different setpoints for the Summer (for the heating basically being off) and am wondering what other people do? Do you put the system in Away Mode, setup a separate set of schedules for Summer or something else entirely that I haven’t thought of?
One of the problems using Away mode is the hot water side. In a genuine awaymode (i.e. holiday) you would probably wish to turn off the hot water whilst in your pseudo mode I guess the hot water should remain active.
Strangely enough I never removed my old style twisty room stat when installing Wiser. So I just turn the dial down to 15C at the end of May and back up to 25C in September. This has the advantage that it avoids the heating coming on in cooler summer mornings when it might be 19C but will soon rise to above my nominal setpoint. Hence I just stick with the same Wiser settings year round. In the unlikely event the room temp actually drops to 15C or below in the summer period the heating would then come on. Likewise in the winter there is no interfere with the normal Wiser controls, unless the room temp gets above 25C which hopefully will never occur.
That probably upsets the delicate internal workings of the Wiser system at the margins between thinking its turning the heating on and not. There were 6 days between 1st June and mid September 2022 when the Wiser system believed the heating was on.
I either use a summer schedule or use manual override and set to off
