DuckDNS connection to HA with a Telekom Speedbox LTE IV router PROBLEM

Hello everyone,

I want to get a remote access to my HA via DuckDNS. I have set up an account an inetgrated and configured it in HA. However, I can not access HA remotely and I am pretty sure it is a router problem:

The router does not let you choose Duckdns as service provider. I have inserted the Duckdns token as password.

For the Port forwarding I have added port 8123 and 80 to be forwarded.

Unfortunately, I cannot access HA via the duckdns URL… Any help is appreciated!!

First off: If your router can’t use duckdns, and you select dyndns, you are basically logging a complaint for a problem with your car at the Ikea helpdesk.
You’ll have to find another way in providing the information to duckdns on which external IP address you are receiving from your Telco provider.

Secondly: Once you manually (for now) set your IP in duckdns, you will also have to allow incoming connections to your HA instance, this is something you’ll have to do un your firewall settings if your router. You can test this by surfing over 5G to your IP address on the specific port, it should forward the traffic to your HA instance.

Which how-to are you following?

Thank you for the reply! I switched to tailscale and it was very easy to setup.

Aah yes, tailscale works very well. Glad it worked out!
