DuckDNS port forwarding issues

Hi all,

rather new user and this is my first post. Have managed to solve any problems so far by searching the forum and or Youtube. Now I’m trying to connect to Google assistant through
DuckDNS. Have managed to finish all the steps but it looks like I’m getting stuck on what looks like the easiest part - port forwarding. Have installed home assistant on my mac through
virtual box running linux with a bridged network adapter. fixed ip-address on my mac.
Have opened 8123 and 443 on my router. Have actually tried two different Asus and Netgear.
When trying to check the port, have tried different services like canyouseeme.org, it fails.
Home assistant and the DuckDNS add-on is running. Could it have something to do with
the bridged adapter. Any advise much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Further my last, tried a port on a different service on same mac outside virtual box,
no problem. So I guess it’s must have something to do with the VirtualBox and bridge.

Hi again,

my bad - thought bridged meant using same ip as the host computer when it actually created a separate ip address. Now everything’s working.
