Echo vs Nest

Whilst I patiently wait for the Voice Assist product to mature a little (I have one already), which device should I choose out of an Echo/Nest when what I really want is just the ability to choose something from Spotify and have it play back through my Sonos amp and speakers in the ceiling within the room i’m in.

I had Homepods but they don’t allow you to force the output from any request to come from a given Sonos device (the one in the same room as the smart speaker) instead of from the Homepod itself, and of course Apple doesn’t support Spotify so well.

I’ve owned and have integrated both platforms to HA. I prefer Alexa and Echo devices even though I originally thought Google devices were the way to go.

The Amazon devices just work but in last 6 months I removed them.

I got annoyed busy from Amazon about my printer needing ink which is only possible from my Alexa devices since my printer can access internet. Maybe Amazon app on phone but it started after basically allowed guest network with Alexa’s access to printers vlan.

Music wise they are amazing. Voice commands they good but never great and really minority better than Voice PE maybe. Not fully tested,

Music assistant now allows streaming from outside sources but I haven’t unused that much.
