Elster v200 water meter

Hi,
I have an Elster v200 water meter and I want to connect it to home assistant.

I have a Raspberry Pi Zero 2 as well as a TL-W5MC1 proximity sensor.

Is it possible to use the Rpi’s GPIOs to read the sensor or do I need a different sensor (or additional hardware)?

Thanks,
M.

Buy a homewizard, that works well.

Is there something wrong with a TL-W5MC1?

I don’t know.

But if you search around you will find elsters are available in multiple variations. With and without metal plates in the red wheels. And most sensors do not detect well. I myslef trid 5 different type if them… nothing sensed it. But the homewizard instantly and succesfull for over a year now.

I’d like try and connect it, just can’t figure out how.

Any idea?

What do you try to connect?

The sensor to gpio (power, gnd, data) pins of the rpi

What sensor? To what, how? What yaml code, etc. Sorry, I am stepping out. This leads to nowhere. There are tons of sensors. If you don’t tell what you have done, whats the result and what’s not working, no one will be able to help you…

Does this help?
