Anyone else having problems today? Ive had quite a few automations with emulated hue that have worked flawless for a while now. Some reason none of the commands are working today…i rebooted ha, i re disvocered devices but i still get the not responding response…
I dont see anything in the logs at all either…but I did just realize I replaced both my echo and echo dot. I now have the sonos ones around my house with alexa built in. Would that cause it?
Welp I apologize. I plugged my dot in and it all started to work right away again. Guess Ill just have to leave that plugged in in an unused room
Same deal as Google home versus Google assistant I’d assume, you have to have a real one to get all the functions, others are just an access point.
I have the same issue. I have only a Sonos One (no other alexa devices) and my alexa app can´t discover my home assistant components exposed via emulated_hue.
According to this I have two questions:
-
Does anybody know, if the alexa implementation of a Sonos One will be enhanced through firmware updates?
So that the Sonos One will someday have the same alexa functions than an Echo Dot and can be used with emulated_hue? -
When I buy an additional Echo Dot, the home assistant components should be visible to Alexa using emulated_hue.
Is it possible in this case to control the home assistant components also with Sonos One? Or can I control the components just with the Echo Dot?
Thanks in advance!
In answer to 2., you will be able to control the devices using anything with Alexa on it if you have a real Echo attached.
For example, I use Reverb on my phone a lot which has a widget which is nothing more than a button on my homescreen, press it, say what you want minus the ‘Alexa’ trigger and it does anything that isn’t a specific function of the Echo itself like drop in. This really needs adding as part of the Alexa app now they added voice control to it but in the meantime it works perfectly.
Saves loads on buying extra Echos that would only have occasional use.
