Enable OTA on z2m, how?

I’ve seen different configs to enable OTA in Zigbee2Mqtt but nothing have given me an update, eventhough I have two identical IKEA Tradfri dimmers with different firmware versions on.

Could someone show me what I need to add to my configuration.yaml so my IKEA, Hue etc. devices get updates?

Not all devices support OTA firmware updates - I have some, e.g. the Innr SP244, that do and others that don’t.
Have you checked on the device pages if they have an entry like this?

OTA updates

This device supports OTA updates, for more information see OTA updates.

I recently installed Zigbee2mqtt and don’t recall having to explicitly enable anything for OTA. As @chairstacker mentioned, some devices support OTA and others do not (looks like yours does). A fantastic resource for this is looking for your device, or future device, here Zigbee2MQTT. It has a plethora of information on each device, including if it supports OTA, putting it in pairing mode, exposed entities, etc…it’s a fantastic resource.

Given that your light bulb does support OTA, navigating into you Zigbee2mqtt add-on, you should see a tab across the top labelled “OTA” (next to Groups, or around there). Within there, you should be able to see all you devices, the current firmware, and the ability to push an OTA.

NOTE: when you do OTA, Zigbee is very low bandwidth, so even a bulb OTA update can take 20-30 minutes. Do one device OTA at a time, wait for it to complete before starting a nother device update

Edit: typo and clarification

Just remembered that the two times I tried to update my IKEA buttons, I had to make sure that I used/pressed them just before applying the update otherwise I’d get the message ‘Update Available’ but then the actual update would fail.

Do I do something wrong, why doesn’t more devices show up under the OTA tab?

Never the less if zigbee device is working as is should leave it alone. I have zigbee devices running for years 24/7 that was never updated.
I only updated once few aquara plugs as update was available.

Only devices with an OTA update ability will be shown.

Aha, I thought Tuya devices had that ability, but that was just something I presumed.

Any idea why my IKEA buttons doesn’t say they have an update when they are of the same model and one have a newer firmware?

With my IKEA devices, I always have to push the button to make sure they are ‘awake’ to receive an update.
