Energy dashboard showing crazy high numbers

I’ve just installed an IotaWatt with CT clamps on all my major circuits, including solar production. The graphs in the Iotawatt webpage look great and make sense to me. But I’m having trouble understanding Home Assistant’s interpretation of it. The numbers on the energy dashboard are crazy high, making no sense.

I set up the dashboard like this:
Grid consumption = Grid_Import.wh Accumulated
Return to grid = Grid_Export.wh Accumulated
Solar production = Solar_Generation.wh Accumulated

In the history graph, grid import and solar generation are both correct, matching the graph in IotaWatt. But the grid export is too high. Its shape is correct, but it starts the day at 4.8kWh instead of zero. Actually the non-accumulated version of that sensor looks correct.

I figured out the accumulated sensors should not be used. This works fine after I switched to the regular Wh sensors.

I have fixed the documentation to say this, and will work on a PR to remove these sensors from the integration.

Wh is an accumulation sensor though.

It reports the total energy consumed, that always increases.

What is a “regular” Wh sensor as opposed to an accumulated one?
