A feature to enable nested energy sensors has been merged for 2025.4 release.

For now it will only be used to correct information in the individual devices detail graph.

This seems like it may have been (potentially) implemented in the new Energy Dashboard with version 2025.12, which includes adding Power consumption. You can specify the ā€œupstreamā€ device, to prevent duplicate energy tracking.

ā€œUpstream deviceā€ has been there for like a year (or 8 months I guess, see my comment right above yours :joy:)

Oh, it was implemented in the core home assistant. But, there does not appear to be a button to close this request.
