Energy monitoring (Eltako)

Hi everybody

A friend and I have to do a Project where we have to do monitor the production of our photovoltaic system and the consumption in the whole house. We will measure the whole energy with module from eltako. I saw already, that Home Assistant is compatible with the Enocean protocol. I think, it should be also possible to draw some curves of the energy consumption.
However, In the future we want to control the whole system with some algorithm. For example an easy one :wink: : we want to turn on automatically the electric boiler as soon as there is enough solar power etc.

Is this possible to do it with Home Assistant if we code some Pyton scripts? Or should i look for another Programms like openHAB?

Very easy to do if you can provide the solar data to home assistant and incorporate it into a sensor.

Then you would simply write an automation to turn on a switch when the power reaches a certain value. You could use a smart switch or simply a relay attached to the pi. Be aware of the power ratings of the switch/relay you use though, electric boilers often draw a large current (amps)
