I got a strange problem and I hope that someone can help me what to do.
I started realising the problem since I’m using HA Matter Hub but I don’t think it has to do with it. Some light entities drop from the hub every few weeks.
What i could find out is, that it’s all the entities where I changed the device type e.g. from switch to light. They get turned to hidden all on their own. Normally this wouldn’t be a problem in any automation or way I’m using them but having to configurate them in alexa on a monthly base is kinda annoying.
Does anyone have an idea, what could possibly be the reason why they get hidden?
(I hope this makes any sense, I’m having fever and my head feels like a sponge )
If you use the switch to x helper integration, the original will be hidden, and the x that you switched it to will be enabled which is what you asked it to do.
… and do not forget to expose the X to Alexa if it is not exposed by default. Because you normally would not expose the switch, but the X you turned it in to.
If it is the X that keeps disappearing: the switch as X entity is removed if the original entity is removed. So that could be what is bugging you too. But then you need to look into the original problem with the switch.
Its concerning about 30 switches that I transfered to be light entities from all kind of different sources (shelly, mqtt,tuya etc). I have exposed the light entities, the original switches are Hidden, thats true. But like I wrote, every few weeks tge light entities get turned to Hidden too. I usually notice it when Alexa can’t Switch my lights in anymore.
