Error after trying to add the new music provider: StopIteration interacts badly with generators and cannot be raised into a Future
I can confirm that YT music works for me as of 2025 June 16. I used the following versions:
Home Assistant 2025.6.1
MA (beta) 2.6.0b11
PO Token Generator 1.1.0
When I was trying with PO Token Generator 1.1.0 and MA (stable) 2.5.4, I was getting the same error as you: StopIteration interacts badly with generators and cannot be raised into a Future but if I looked at the MA Logs (Home Assistant Settings / Add-ons / Music Assistant Server - Logs Tab) I could see that MA could tell that there was a version mismatch between MA server and PO Token Server, but then failed to fetch a token with a RemoteDisconnected error.
Updating MA Server to the beta build solved the problem!

I will wait for the update of MA. The Wifefactor doesn´t allow betas =)
Are there any updates on this? I installed the beta but I’m still having the same issue as the others have reported. It will not accept my cookie.
I was having the same issue, but after switching to the latest stable version 2.5.5 (not the beta), it got resolved. You might want to try that if you haven’t already.
I have version 2.5.5. installed as well as the beta and neither is working for me.

It worked for a while on the latest stable version, but today it stopped working again. Seems like the issue is back.
Had the same issue, there is a new beta out and now it works like a charme (again).

This seems to have been fixed with the release of Music Assistant 2.6.0 yesterday. Where I previously got this error when setting up Youtube Music as a music provider it now works.
I am also curious why “dQw4w9WgXcQ” is used. Maybe because it is a Youtube video/song that will probably always exist with this specific video ID and is therefore a good connectivity test?

I’m very new to Home Assistant in general.
I can keep fighting this…but my question…is it actually worth it? (I don’t mean this critiically I’m just trying to understand why this is even the approach to play music…maybe streaming music via Home Assistant and a streaming service is a bridge too far?
ie.If this is going to keep dropping out is the workflow better to either:
Find some other streaming service (spotify?)
Just stick with ‘normal’ youtube music in the browser and cast music a different way?
Just use local music like back in the 90s? Anyway I can keep trying to solve this but I’m curious about why we should even try to hack this? Thanks!
Edit:So I’ve been using chatgpt to try and help figure this out too…what it suggests is that this is all the wrong approach.
ie. Are we better off getting Google itself to just play to the various devices…but we use HA to talk to Google? Anyway will keep researching…but am trying to figure out what the workflow is!
Is it not working currently or am I doing something wrong?
