Looking for some advise / experience people have with using any sensor with ESP Home.
If this is for a life safety application, it’s a terrible idea to make your own.
For a project where I wanted to detect and measure smoke, I found the cheapest, easiest and most reliable smoke sensor to be using a cheap smoke alarm. Cost was ~$10 and I was able to easily connect straight into the analog output of the sensor.

Agreed. What about options for something that can be intergated into ESP home or zigbee based?
