The display is compatible with ESPControl provided you grab his latest patch (The one I reverse-engineered to provide this configuration)
I installed ESPControl on the JC1060P470C_I_W_Y V2 by simply selecting the model and V2 revision. This appears to be a recent addition, as I didn’t see the option when I checked a few days ago.
I’m a little confused about how to take advantage of the rest of the hardware that ESPControl currently doesn’t expose or use, such as the speakers, RTC, camera, etc.
I’ve tried using “Take Control” in the ESPHome Device Builder, but every time I update the device, I have to set up the panel from scratch, which is pretty annoying. ESPControl then prompts me to install its own update, taking me right back to where I started.
Also, since I often run mass updates on my 70+ ESP devices, I’m inevitably going to end up resetting my touch panels. Knowing myself, I probably won’t have a backup of the latest configuration changes either, since I tinker with things far too frequently!
Is there a way to take control of the device and customize its ESPHome configuration without losing the ESPControl settings or getting caught in this update cycle?
