With dynamic energy tariffs using electricity at the right time can save a lot.
There are a lot of apps showing a colored bar graph with electricity tariffs.
But then you have to grap your phone, open te app to see the tariffs.
And for the status of your home appliances another app/ (likely Home Assistant)
I am using Zonneplan, a Dutch provider. But the app can be adapted to others.
Or use parts for your own project. That’s the best way to learn.
The wall mounted display shows all the information i need in one place.
Tariffs as a ring around an analog clock. And usage the same way as in the Zonneplan app.
This 8x8 cm touch display shows an analog clock with for the next hours a tariff color.
Green for low, Yellow, Orange and Red for higer tariffs. And Blue when it is negative.
The status of my most consuming devices are on the left. Ans the status of the solar panels on the right.
The nest page shows the amount of electricity from and to the grid. And the gas used. The size of the circles show how they compare to each other.
