ESPHome Devices autodiscovered by ESPHome-AddOn

Hello everybody,

Since nearly two years I successfully use about 60 ESPHome Devices in HA via the ESPHome-Integration.

Now I installed the ESPHome-AddOn.

Several of the ESPHome devices now have been auto-discovered by the Add-On and appear as Discovered in its Dashboard. These discovered ones are all athom devices. The “Adoption” by the Add-On worked like a charm! :heart_eyes:

Now some other devices I flashed myself do not appear in this dashboard, although they are also already integrated in HA. Somehow the Add-On can not discover these. Any ideas what I could do to make them being discovered by the Add-On to adopt them?

Any help would be appreciated!

For the device to show up in the ESPHome add-on dashboard you need to put the device configuration yaml file in config/esphome/.

Just for a better understanding. Maybe you could tell me: how comes that some of the ESP are auto-discovered and some are not?

And by the way: the adoption-function included an automated api-encryption setup. Is there any way to trigger this process afterwards for the devices added manually via yaml copy?
