ESPIR-DB. A project I started

Recently, I realised how little resources are available when it comes to IR codes, I know you can just use an IR-receiver to quickly get these codes but that might not always be the case, e.g. for beginners, if you do not have access to the device, etc. So, taking inspiration from Flipper-IRDB, I took it upon myself to create a little database of my own for ESPHome IR codes in the form of a snippet of the yaml code. I know many would just ask why you can’t just use the codes from Flipper-IRDB, and the problem is not all Flipper Zero and ESPHome codes share a common way of being formatted, which makes it a nightmare for any beginner wanting to use those codes for his project.

It is still a young project and so far I only have a few IR codes from devices I own but if everyone just contributes a little or even helps translate the codes from Flipper-IRDB, it would help a lot:

I don’t see why esphome device with decent ir-receiver would not be capable to receive any code (within frequency range of the receiver, normally ~38khz).
Translating signals from one device to another is likely more complicated and costly than learning to read raw ir-timings.

I know. This is more of a side-project that will be more important for a bigger project I am working on. I just thought I would share it anyway

Sharing is always welcome and bigger projects are even more interesting…

It officially has a lot of ir codes
