Hi, I’m new to HA. I managed to set up my HA green and also Z2MQQT with SLZB-06. I have an existing setup with Aqara M3 hub with a bunch of devices and automation. I wanted to keep all of it in Aqara app but also see everything in HA. I managed to connect M3 hub via Matter to HA but some devices are not showing up and all buttons don’t have triggers when creating automation (only battery-related triggers are present) so I can’t react to presses. So I was thinking of moving everything to Z2MQQT. Does this mean I have to reset every single device and connect it directly to Z2MQQT and recreate all automations? Would this mean that M3 hub becomes worthless and I don’t need it anymore?
ha is a hub. If you want to use those zigbee devices using z2m you will have to pair it to ha.
Will they unpair from hub I don’t know. Try one for a test drive.
And you will probably have to write automations for them in ha.
This is expected for battery devices. They send events and don’t have a state. Try pressing the button once or twice to see if you can get it to show up under the device option of the automation. If that doesn’t work, then you will have to use ZigBee events.
Yes, a ZigBee device can only be bound to 1 coordinator at a time. If you’re moving to Z2M, then you will need a separate supported coordinator, because I don’t believe the M3 is supported in Z2M.
You’ll have to decide what you want to go with, going forward. You can’t keep using both the M3 & Z2M
Thank you for quick responses. Yeah, so that’s what I thought. I was hoping HA could communicate only with the hub this way, it could fully controls other devices connected to the hub. So I’ll have to move everything to Z2M and set it up from scratch. Hopefully, it will be as stable as it was until now
