I recently started using homeassistant in a docker container on my synology diskstation. My goal was to get notified by push message as soon as the washing machine had its job don.
Therefore I created a super nice configuration and automation script with credits to the superb infos I gathered from the wiki, forums and blogs.
I did some fine tuning to the automation from my mobile phone and f*cked up my configuration.yaml which had all the notifyer, sensor and automations in it. Stupid me…
However the latest configuration is still active as I didn’t reload the service so far.
Is there a way to export my existing configuration?
I don’t know of any but the real (and hopefully easier) question is what did you make changes to that caused it to screw it up?
was it just the automation section?
You say that you caught the config error before you restarted since your HA is still working. When you do the config check what is it telling you the error is?
I don’t know what happened in detail. I accessed the file with the synology DSFile App on my Android Phone and used an editor on the phone to make some changes. Saving the files than caused an Error and left an unreadable fine which I was not able to open anymore (not even on the console). Therefore I didn’t have to use the config check as it was allready clear that this file was not usuable anymore.
Meanwhile I startet rewriting the file(s). Shouldn’t take too long
