Hi everyone! ![]()
I’d like to share EZVALO Infrared, a custom Home Assistant integration for controlling compatible EZVALO infrared motion sensor lights.
GitHub:
The integration uses Home Assistant’s native Infrared framework and exposes the EZVALO remote functions as normal Home Assistant entities.
No YAML configuration is required.
Features
Currently supported:
Power
- On
- Off
Operating modes
- Always On
- Day Motion
- Night Motion
Color temperature
- Cool
- Neutral
- Warm
Brightness
- Brightness Up
- Brightness Down
Timers
- 15 minutes
- 30 minutes
- 60 minutes
- 90 minutes
- 120 minutes
- Cancel Timer
The controls can be used in dashboards, automations and scripts.
How it works
The integration uses Home Assistant’s native infrared.* emitter support.
During setup, you select the infrared emitter that can reach your EZVALO lights.
The supported remote uses:
- Protocol: Extended NEC
- Address:
0x7386 - Carrier frequency: 38 kHz
Installation with HACS
For now, install the integration through HACS as a Custom Repository:
- Open HACS
- Open Custom repositories
- Add the GitHub repository linked at the top of this post
- Select Integration
- Install EZVALO Infrared
- Restart Home Assistant
Then go to:
Settings → Devices & services → Add Integration
Search for EZVALO Infrared and select your infrared emitter.
No YAML configuration is required.
HACS Status
The integration has been submitted for inclusion in the default HACS repository.
The submission is currently in the HACS review queue and has not received final approval yet.
HACS submission:
Until it receives final approval and is included in the default HACS catalog, install it using the Custom Repository method above.
State Behavior
Infrared communication is one-way, so the EZVALO lights do not report their actual state back to Home Assistant.
Because of this, the integration uses assumed / optimistic state.
If the original remote is used outside Home Assistant, the state shown in Home Assistant may differ from the actual light state.
Brightness is exposed as Brightness Up and Brightness Down buttons rather than a percentage because the infrared protocol does not provide absolute brightness feedback.
Compatibility
The integration was developed and tested with the EZVALO 6-Pack rechargeable wireless motion sensor lights.
Compatibility is based on the infrared protocol, so other EZVALO models may use different commands and are not guaranteed to work.
If you have another EZVALO model, I’d really appreciate it if you could test it and share:
- Your EZVALO model
- The infrared emitter you are using
- Which commands work
- Which commands do not work
Issues and contributions are welcome through the GitHub repository.
