i bought the zwa-2 and ordered zxt-800 from remotec, and for the life of me, i can’t pair the device.
i scanned the barcode, got this message - This device has been provisioned but is not yet included in the network.
i am using the ZWave JS integration, and placed the device very close to the zwave adapter.
the device is connected only via USB power (no batteries),
the zwave js cannot find the device.
could someone please help?
i don’t know what to do anymore (i also tried to factory reset the device)
Hello,
Yes, per the manual, i pressed the PROG button 3 times in order to put the device in inclusion mode.
When i try to add the device to it’s android app, it works, but i want to control the device via home assistant, not the phone app…
I even factory reset the device, still didnt work.
i use 2 of this in homeassistant, no problems, what controller are you using? for example on z-station i had to be close to the devices, but with zwa2 i cam be really far away.
I bought mine from ali express, when i tried the app, it connected without a problem, but when i try to reset the device, and add it to home assistant, it wont connect…
Odd
If it wont work, im thinking about buying a zigbee based ir blaster
Mine are also from aliexpress, how do you push the button when trying to ad them to HA? And is it blinking pink? if im remember correctly you should only push 1 time when adding them to z-wave (3 times for bluetooth) and it can take some time before ha is showing that it found them. so put the controller in inclusion mode, puch the device 1 time so it blink pink and then wait. (the s2 code is written in small text on the device)
I unplugged the device, made sure it had no batteries, i added the device via the barcode, pressed the button once, saw the pink ligh blinking a few times and waited for the inclution…
Do you remember if those were the steps you took?
how long it took for the device to show up for you?
Thank you for your help
nop thats wrong, if you scan the barcode you should only plug it in, do not pusch any buttons, (scan, then ad the device, then plugg it in, then it will take some time and it will be added) i never use that (smart start) i prefer to put homeassistant in inclusion mode (not scan) click on “more options” in homeassistant and pick “Search for device” then you click once on the device and it should blink pink, after 30-60 sek it vill include, you need to ad the s2 code manuely (its stated on the device)
ok but i just think your mixing smart start and normal device inclusion, this will make things rely buggy.
i preferer to use the normal inclusion and not scan at all.
if its not showing up now its probably since it now have multiple devices in z-wave js (failed inclusions)
1: go into z-wave.js and check if you have devices there that have not been included correctly.
If you have devices there, you must exclude your device again, you do this with the icon at the bottom right, see picture 1B. press exclude, then press 1 time on the device so that it flashes pink. If there are devices that refuse to go away, you can use the icon above that looks like a magic wand and there force remove devices. When there are only controllers that you see in z-wave.js, proceed to step 2.
2: check your settings, pictures 2 and 3. what is marked in red should be filled in
3: Now click on add a z-wave device on the phone, see picture 4-5
when you have started the search, click once on the z-wave device so that it flashes pink,
now you will soon get a question about the S2 key, this is on the device in very small text, take a photo or write it down before you start. Now you should have the device in. Remember to take it easy, it can take 1 minute before HA finds the device.
i nuked the whole zwave addon and data,
did a whole home assistant server restart,
changed the region to Europe BEFORE adding any device,
made sure AGAIN that the region stayed on Europe
made sure the ZWA2 was working nicely (using the ZWAVE JS add on, not the UI),
only then, following your (incredible) detailed steps,
i was able to add the device…
my brain is so annoying sometimes, not letting go of this problem…
thank you for everyone who contributed to the solution
you can sort off, you can start stopp the swing by enable it under the settings for the z-wave device, if you like to have different standard levels you probably need to manually copy the codes for this setting or make a scene that activate the swing for x sec. or you could check if you can find a better ir kod for your model that have that setting. observe that you probably need to remove it from z-wave to ad a new model for this to take effekt.
