Fing Setup

Hi , could anyone tell me how to setup Fing Intergration in HAOS please.

When I try it asks for an IP address ( is the my HAOS box, the router or other) then it asks for an API .. where do I get the API from. I have read the documentation which is pretty basic and not useful and I read a post from Feb 25 that was a little more helpful but stil didnt explain fully.

Could somebody help please? I am trying to create a dashboard tyhat wil list teh devices connected to my Linksys Velop Access points as the Linkssys intergration is great but only tells you the number of connections not what they are.

Thank you for any help

Regards Andy

The Fing integration requires that (Fing Agent) software to be installed somewhere else on your network, on some other physical device.

Do you have Fing Agent set up on some other device that's connected to your network?

Hi Petro , thanks for comign back to me. I have a Raspberry PI that runs my NUTS server for the UPS so I could use that , would that work ?

I have no idea, you should check with the Fing project to see if it's compatible with that hardware. They are a separate software from HA, the HA Fing integration just has the ability to connect to that software.

Just installed it on Raspberry-PI ok .. Any idea where I get the API from thou

I highly suggest you use the documentation. I've never seen this software until your question and found your answer by just following links:

So worked it out that install of fing agent on Raspberry was easy it was finding the api that took soem doing. And that was a case of using the desktop windows app and the cloud app to find. Once I had those HAOS worked fine.
