Hi!
First of all, I’m an Apple guy and this tablet is my first Android ( beside some IoT devices). So I’m an Android noob.
I liked the idea of using the cam to wake up the display with Fully Kiosk which you can’t on iPad.
I used Fire toolset to debloat the tablet from Amazon stuff and install play store.
Problem is, from time to time, when the tablet wakes up, it says Connection lost, reconnecting in HA and reload the page couple of secondes later.
Can be after an hour or 5 min.
I disabled every settings about wifi disconnecting when display is off or low power mode, etc
I also disabled the option in HA profile about disconnecting after a while. On battery or charging, no difference.
Nothing works. It happens with the official HA app or web browser (or in fully kiosk).
I have an old ipad and it never did that a single time. Nor my phone or my macbook.
It’s not the end of the world, it takes 2 to 4 seconds to reload but at this point I’m thinking about returning it and use my old ipad.
BTW it never disconnects from the wifi. I have a Unifi system and the tablet stays up all the time.
Any idea to fix this?
Thanks
When you setup the companion app, did you used the internal(local) or the external address of the HA server? Using local would be faster.
I use the local one! Same subnet
I also use the Fire HD 10 and also used the Fire Toolbox to debloat and the default settings has no problem.
To wake up the IPad, I used a motion sensor and send a notification to the IPAD to wake it up and leaved it in Guided Access mode.
Just found this

integration: fully_kiosk
### The problem
I turned the screen off in the device control panel and then re… ceived this error when trying to turn the screen on - Failed to call service light/turn_on. Cannot connect to host 192.168.50.126:2323 ssl:default [Connect call failed ('192.168.50.126', 2323)].
I have remote access enabled on the fully kiosk app and it works with every other control in the device section bar this one.
It is worth noting that when turning off the screen I also receive this message however, the screen does turn off:
Failed to call service light/turn_off. Server disconnected
I’m currently using an Amazon Fire tablet 7 with the latest version as of posting of fully kiosk browser.

I run a fire 10 and fire 8 tablet continuously and turn off the screen. I’ve never had the tablet disconnect, so I’m suspect of the statements in that link.
