Flashing tuya cbu generic WiFi USB switch

My devices look identical to this yet I am struggling to get the thing online. I can flash via ltchiptool but it never comes online.
I do have a message about unknown bootloader Unknown bootloader CRC - 0xF42F8C32 as shown here Unknown bootloader CRC - 0xF42F8C32 · Issue #74 · libretiny-eu/ltchiptool · GitHub but toggling CEN allows the chip to be identified and flashed. Rather confused - maybe someone has a tip?
I built a uf2 file matching the config on the page above. No luck.
Any ideas are appreciated.

FYI the CBU module is a T1-U-HL

…And it appears that this is a BK7238 which isn’t supported by LibreTiny or ESPhome yet.

Have you tried OpenBK, a Tasmota like firmware?

That’s exactly what I did, it’s the only option for BK7238 devices at present. Bit unwieldy but it gets the job done.

I’m waiting for ESPhome to add support, I have a few tuya IR sensors with C3BS BK7231 which are working great with ESPhome.
