Got 0.114 Beta running and everything is working perfectly! Love the new sensors. All that I had to do is remove the old superfluous sensor to keep things clean and point my references in cards to the new sensor I wanted to use. Thanks for getting this implemented so quickly Chris!

0.114.2 is released, this includes the API fix and support for multiple sensors. This is a breaking change so the old entity will need to be deleted. https://www.home-assistant.io/blog/2020/08/12/release-114/

Solved: I read this post => Flume Water Meter and then proceeded to delete an old token file. The issue seems to be solved.

Hi there. Iā€™m having issues adding the Flume integration. I updated to 0.114.2 today and I tried going the route through Configuration>>Integrations first, with no luck. After entering my credentials I got this error message:

Then I added it to configuration.yaml, which then prompted the Flume to be discovered. Unfortunately, the result was the same.

Iā€™ve requested the credentials from Flumeā€™s website:

Any ideas on what Iā€™m doing wrong/could do better?

Didnā€™t find anything in the googlesā€¦ Does anyone know if this integration works with Flume 2? I presume the answer is yes, only if the api is the same as first gen. No idea why the api would change but who knows.

The new flume is very new so I wouldnā€™t be surprised if no one here has one yet. That being said from what I can tell they are essentially the same thing with a new enclosure and better radios. I would think it would work the same way. As you said this is just querying the API, not the unit itself. That said I canā€™t guarantee it either.

Thanks for this! I got one from Amazon coming in, they have an amazing return policy so hopefully it works out. Iā€™ll post back results.

P.S Many reviews complaining about battery duration (didnā€™t last as long as mfg claimed), i presume itā€™s because their wifi setup was not optimal. Sorry for hijacking the thread

I got a Flume V2 today and got it connected up. Integration works fine with HA.

Same here, everything looking good. Thanks!

I have the Flume v1, bought earlier this year. Iā€™m a little annoyed thereā€™s no way they can implement retaining the data whenever thereā€™s a power or internet outage. Coincidentally, I had an internet outage the first week of ownership and it happened while I was running my irrigation system. At this point itā€™s a ā€œgood to haveā€ device more than a necessity and Iā€™m glad my utility took care of 75% of the cost. It does seem pretty accurate, though.

I would like to set up automation to trigger on one of the alerts going off. I am referring to the alerts that you can define within the Flume app. Is this possible?
(I searched the thread for ā€œalertā€ but did not find anything)

I bought one and installed yesterday based on this thread. So far so good.
thanks for the knowledge.

I would love it if the set location (away mode) could be implemented.

Just got a Flume 2 today. Integration worked but after about ten minutes I started getting error messages.

Getting the same error. Sometimes the integration loads, but most of the time I get these.

Just so anyone wanting to purchase this from now on doesnā€™t run into the same issue I did, you can no longer access the API without a subscription. Huge bummer.

From customer service, ā€œI have heard back from my manager and it looks like since you purchased your Flume after the launch of insight you will have to pay the insight subscription to get that API features along with the rest.ā€

Such bullshit, given that the only reason I bought this product was because people were saying itā€™s one of the few that ISNā€™T locked behind a paywall.

Update: Not returning, as customer service came back with ā€œI just heard back from my manager again and I got permission to turn on the package customers that purchased prior to insight launch on August 23rd on your account. So you should be able to use the API feature now. You may have to close out of the app and reopen it to see the changes!ā€.

Still, be warned for future buyers.

Oof. Bought it a while back. Just sent them a strongly-worded email about this change and promised to campaign against their product if they donā€™t reconsider. Iā€™ll wait a few days for a response, but if no change, will submit a change on the Home Assistant docs making it known this is a subscription-based API.

And Iā€™ll make it my personal vendetta to go post everywhere else I find people talking about Flume.

Nothing wrong with paid, new features. Charge for the water usage identification, etc. But donā€™t retroactively charge for the API, thatā€™s shady.

I just got my Fume V2ā€¦and no API without an insight subscription. This is a real bummer. Trying to work with support to send it back. Looks great, but for $49.99 a year to access the API is hard to justify.

Hi @dcnorenand @richpuch the API is now available for use without the Insight subscription.

Just trying to understand Utility Meter sensors in Home assistant.

Is there any reason (valid use cases any of you might have) for leveraging utility meter sensor configurations with Flume since it gives most of the aggregates directly as entities when integrated.
