So I followed the direction herehttps://www.home-assistant.io/docs/locked_out/ because, after this last update the system decided all my accounts and their passwords did not exist. I had terminal access but the AUTH reset woudl not work, as it told me all the users were not registered.
I then follow the directions and deleted, auth, onboarding, hassio, cloud, auth_provider.homeassistant from the .storage directory. I did not expect nor does the doc mention this would wipe everything. I wiped my ESPHome Directory every. I lost all my configs.
It my fault that I did not make a backup before updating but I guess I had been lucky this has never happened before. Does anyone have any ideas how my stuff might be recovered?
I did exactly what the official doc told me to. It did indeed wipe everything. I deleted nothing other than the file instructed in the doc webpage.
I was able to roll back about a month. Which still sucks because I have lost a ton of Lovelace config and several of my ESPHome nodes.
What I dont understand is why it even logged me out when I did the update to begin with. I mean it logged me out of every web browser on 3 different computers. 2 cell phone and a tablet. All mobile devices had their own separate unique logins.
And then when I still had terminal access directly on the machine it was telling me the accounts were not registered. Even though I could see them all listed in the auth file.
Oh believe me I will be setting up the automatic snapshots. Just really annoying. I love HASS and have been getting the guys at work on board. My own fault as I have been instructing them to make backups and here I was not doing it myself. Well time to spend an entire day rebuilding my floor pans again
