Foreign Bluetooth devices from a neighbors

Hi, my home-assistant find for example a Oral-B IO Series 6/7 from a neighbors and i can see the selection menu with the charging time ???
How can this be? Is this data protection at Oral?

Yeah, I pick up my neighbours bluetooth brushes. Not much of a security problem. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Most consumer device manufacturers don’t give a rat about security until pressed on the issue. Chances are your neighbors do not know and some dont care. (my neighbors suddenly disappeared the day after I mentioned my system was picking them up. :joy:. They also pick up his Mopeka LP tank fill system and I haven’t told him he’s low… )

Me on the other hand. That’s why I won’t buy that toothbrush.

I pick up a number of acurite 986 freezer thermometers on 433 that I think belong to a food hall >200m away. People on here are always asking for devices with a good distance for freezers.

You could set up an automation based on the time the neighbor brushed his/her teeth.
If it’s less than a minute, makes sure you get a warning
