I’m offering up a free P101 AI voice device to a developer interested in turning it into a local Home Assistant voice satellite.
I am 99% sure this device does not do any local LLM or voice processing beyond the wakeword. It acts like a cheap Alexa—capturing audio and streaming it to the Tuya cloud. Because of this, it’s likely running a standard IoT chip (Beken, Realtek, etc.) attached to a mic and speaker array, rather than a heavy Arm/Linux board.
Since OTA exploits like CloudCutter are likely patched on these newer SDKs, this will require cracking the case open to find UART, dump the flash, or even just gutting the main MCU to wire up an ESP32 to the existing mic/speaker hardware for native ESPHome voice pipelines.
