Fresh install Generic x86-64 - HP N40L microserver

So i installed on a HP N40L using method 1 shown here:

i wanted to restore from a full backup but could not, i got a message that it was not able to upload

so i thought why not install the samba plugin and upload the backup that way… no dice either:

Konfigurationen af add-on kunne ikke gemmes, Unknown error, see supervisor logs

its in danish but it says it could not save the config

link to pastebin with full log:

so where can i start to look for faults?

EDIT: installing the “Advanced SSH & Web Terminal” addon by Frenck right now should i need ssh access during fault find

EDIT2: for fun i tried to install the ESPhome addon and got this:

same for tailscale

the ssh addon is still installing

EDIT3: got the same error when i tried to start the ssh addon as when i tried to start the samba addon

EDIT4: tried to start the gets hacs addon

will try a reboot now

Hmm - it’s a fairly reliable install method. I have installed and restored several times with no issues - this was on an Intel NUC though. Maybe something weird with that hardware - add “HP N40L microserver” to the title and you may get more specific answers.

Also - post the Supervisor logs for one of the installs…

you missed it… 5 lines down

side note… the CLI takes a VERY long time to get ready

so a reboot can without to much lying up to an hour before the web interface is ready

since i have a screen attached still i see the jump in to emergency mode a lot and ten i use login to guesstimate how far its from being ready, when i see the banner with ip info then i know its 20-30 mins from ready

when the cli is ready i then get system is not ready with state: setup error

its then i start to use the banner command to figure when its ready

so after a reboot and i get the banner with ip address i’m now stuck at a connection refused for the webinterface

Ah - pastebin… Makes my eyes glaze over

Maybe disk issues? I haven’t looked at your logs but if you’ve taken the time to look at them then I don’t think there is anything I will pick up…

will try and look for another disk to test with that to see if it makes any difference

so far it seems that the drive i used was just to slow (usb 3.0 thumb drive)
