Frient/Develco SMSZB-120 smoke detector - how to connect in HA - (ConBee II deconz)?

I have purchased a couple of Develco SMSZB-120 smoke detectors (aka Frient) and have tried to add them in Home Assistant (running HAOS fully updated). My zigbee stick is a Conbee II connected with a USB extension cable. I have numerous of other zigbee sensors that work just fine.

However, when I put the SMSZB-120 in pairing mode, and try to add it in HA, nothing happens. There is nothing special in the logs either. I have tried to bring the device close to the usb stick, but that didn’t help.

I read online that it is operating on channel 11-24, and on HA my Conbee II is set to “Smart”, currently at channel 15 from what I see at http://:8123/config/zha/dashboard . From the URL it also means that I use ZHA I guess.

Has anyone managed to add these devices using HA and ZHA with Conbee II?

OK, replying to myself: This was solved by actually reset the device. I thought I had already reset it, but it turned out I hadn’t pressed the button long enough. Holding it for 15-20 seconds (ie. more than 10), I managed to reset it (got rapid red blinking) and then include it in HA, no problem.
