Frigate and ONVIF Cameras

I’ve spent multiple days trying, googling, trying and rinse and repeat and now before I pull the last few strands of hair out I figured I would finally ask for help.
I have multiple cameras from Tapo, Eufy (I don’t even try to get them working, so we won’t talk about that!) as well as some AliExpress specials that I use for wildlife cameras.

I’ve configured Frigate as per all the documents and online videos with MQTT, etc. etc. and I have all the correct RTSP stream info which I can use to view the cameras with nicely in VLC and the ONVIF integration (which works great).

BUT Frigate just will not show some of the cameras or it shows them some of the time, or after a restart it might show all of them and then one by one they disappear and then might come back, or they might not depending on the weather, the state of the dow jones index, if the moon is out and so on and so forth.

I just discovered the ONVIF integration and it works like a charm, surely it must be possible to get these cameras to show up in the same stable fashion inside Frigate, I haven’t even got to setting up zones and detection and all that yet.

What am I doing wrong?

Can anyone help me out?? Thanks

Any correlation how many (active) streams are open/requested from your camera? Often cams are limit to only one or two active streams, if one more is requested an older client streaming might be looking in the dark :see_no_evil:

And without you knowing various clients might be configured to access the camera stream, for example a ha camera component (e.g. rtsp), frigate, phone with app xy, NVR, web browser and so on…
