it was not me
I’m also getting tripped up by this. I generally get one of my detection objects that I don’t want when an alert fires. So if I get an alert of a person in my driveway zone and a car drives by at the same time the person is walking into my driveway, the thumbnail is generally the car instead of the person.
Guess there is no good way to deal with this other than to just send the GIF as the attachment?
Sorry if this is blatantly obvious or been asked before.
But is there a way to configure this so that it only notifies me in the case of someone loitering? I turned on the loitering option for 10 seconds but I am still receiving normal motion notifications through too. Is there an option to turn motion notifications off and just leave loitering running?
Is there something I need to configure in Friagte intergration itself too?
Thanks folks!
Hi All,
I am trying to get SgtBatten’s blueprint to work but it has beat me. Would someone please shine a light on what pure obvious thing i am doing wrong.
I have Frigate installed with a Reolink camera streaming. The camera is detecting persons through HA. My logs are clear in frigate. I can see MQTT is connected to frigate.
My problem is I am not getting any notifications at all to my mobile. In the blueprint I have just selected my camera and mobile that the blueprint had discovered itself and selected snapshots and persons. I couldn’t get MQTT to listen on reviews, so I changed that to events, I could see info while listening. Before, Action, End No New…
Not sure if the default here should work without changing. http://ccab4aaf-frigate:5000 is my url although I am getting page not found when i paste that into brouser.
My log in HA is saying
This error originated from a custom integration.
Logger: custom_components.frigate.api
Source: custom_components/frigate/api.py:548
integration: Frigate (documentation, issues)
First occurred: 00:25:45 (2 occurrences)
Last logged: 00:26:03
Error fetching information from http://frigate:5000/api/stats: Cannot connect to host frigate:5000 ssl:default [Timeout while contacting DNS servers]
How do I correct this?
Many Thanks hope someone can help me
You need to use a url that points to home assistant, not frigate.
me too but i keep getting error in log in home assisrant
i was running Frigate FA first and then deleted it because it didnt work. So now I am using basic Frigate. I am aware there is two different urls and I have tried them both.
use the exact address I posted, not ‘frigate’.
Oh I see, you have an issue with the integration not the blueprint.
This url gets me connected ok but my issue is no notifications. I am running basic frigate not FA Frigate
I deleted the integration and added it again. now I don’t have any errors in logs. Unfortunately I am still not getting any notifications or snap shots from the blueprint; I can see my snap shots in home assistant media everytime i walk past camera.
in the blueprint should the MQTT Topic (Advanced) be set to frigate/reviews or frigate/events? is there anything else that would cause not to send a notification ? My camera was automatically picted up and My mobile.
yes same as yours.
I deleted the SgtBatten blueprint and tried Frigate AI blueprint. That one sends me person notifications, straight but it has a snapshot error. 40something.
I have frigate working as an add on to my HA OS. I created another automation with SgtBatten blueprint again but still no notifications.
Why aren’t you using the ‘full access’ app? Could that be an issue?
I tried using the full access app and had the same problem of no notifications. I have spent ages at it, just not getting anywhere. So, I deleted the FA and installed the basic Frigate but still the same no notifications to mobile from this blueprint.
This is my integration.
In supervisor log it is giving this in red
2026-04-08 11:20:15.571 ERROR (MainThread) [supervisor.api.ingress] Stream error with http://172.30.33.5:5000/api/logs/frigate: Cannot write to closing transport

Home Assistant needs access to port 5000 (api) and 8554/8555 (rtsp, webrtc) for all features.
Why is HA not getting access to the ports?
