Frigate on a virtual machine

I have found my system design throws me some curve balls. I am running HAOS 18.3. HA Code 2026.9.4 on a LINUX Virtual Box Virtual Machine Hosted on a Mac OS mini Silicon I have MQTT running using a mosquito broker and its can publish and receive. I can not seem to get te Frigate configured properly. When I configure it the default url is

http://ccab4aaf-frigate:5000

I get a "failed connect " error message during the installation and also in the log

I have tried using my network ip with the same error.. I have seen some reference to a frigate add-on that I have been unable to find. I am sure I am doing something stupid

I try my HA Ip http://10.0.130 with same result

I guess I am too far on the fringe?

Frigate Documentation pages might help and
blakeblackshear/frigate · Discussions · GitHub is the official Frigate support hub and is another good place to get help with Frigate if you don’t get an answer here.

thanks. Been through the documentation. I will see if I can get my question form atl right for them

Hi Jason

So you are running HAOS in Virtual Box on macOS, right?
Where do you run frigate?

What are you trying to achieve with that?

I am running Frigate under home assistant on a linux VM. which I hosted on a Mac OS Mac min The issue initially was that i couldn’t get frigate integration to work . I apparently need an app not just the integration . The Frigate App. needed a configuration.yml which I corrected. and Installed the Frigate Full access Still working with it and to get it to work with Mount It. True intent is running around. trying to figure how to store my HA media files on an external USB hard drive
