Hi all,
I have a Fritzbox up and running, and added a few repeaters around the house, also by AVM, all connected as mesh.
It works fine, I’m quite happy. I also cleaned up some entries today in the Fritzbox, so the names are now showing correctly in the network view.
Next thing I want to straighten is the devices in Home Assistant and AVM Fritz Tools. You see, somehow AVM FRITZ!Box Tools is able to add an Entity to other devices under “diagnosis”, showing if the device is connected to the wifi/network/“at home”.
It will look like this:
I haven’t done anything, but this magically appeared once I had set up the AVM Tools integration. Due to its “magicability”, I do not understand why it is showing on some devices, but not on others.
Inside the devices of the integration, there is a weird mix of devices and integrations that work together with the AVM tools:
About 75 devices did not receive a name in AVM tools, but are showing as “PC-” or “PC-”.
In the end, I’m hoping to achive that next to my mobile phone:
I could see the device tracker from here:
I could swear that I had had this in the past, but I don’t really remember and have no clue what might have changed, and, again, due to the “magicability” of the whole integration, I don’t know where to start or what to look for.
Anybody having an idea? Could it be that the AVM tools are matching MAC addresses of devices? Because eg. I don’t see a MAC address in my Overkiz Tahoma box and there is no AVM tools diagnosis, but I see the MAC address eg. in my smart smoke alerts:
