I’ve only been working with HA for about a month! I’ve used Alexa for years but recently decided it was time to kick Jeff Bozos out of my home! I have been focused on replacing and upgrading devices until now. I am now ready to start building a dashboard that fits my style and fills my needs! I am a giant geek so of course I want a LCars star trek dashboard. I have been watching a bunch of youtube vids etc and they all keep refering to “frontend” which apparently u access and edit with the studio code server integration. I have the studio code server integration installed but there is nothing resembling frontend that I can find! I’ve searched HCAS, Addons integrations and can not find it!! Does anyone know what it is talking about? More importantly in the simplest terms possible how do I install it? The newest video I’ve found is over a year old so I’m guessing it was just removed or something during an update but I don’t know. Anyway thank u in advance for any assistance you can provide!
The HACs UI has been changed since most off those videos were made.
Simply go to the HACS dashboard page and search for ‘ha lcars’. Click on the result (should be just one) and then click download in the bottom right.
You will need to have already installed card-mod which you can do the same way (search for ‘card-mod’ (should get a single result).

If you decide on a specific card type, use the forum’s search function to locate the main threads for most 3rd party card types.
The problem I was having is they all where saying to add I guess repository info to the “frontend” yaml file. As far as I can tell that doesn’t exist anymore with the current versions of HA and LCars! After your assistance I did start creating my new dash and yeah it seems like everything is working totally fine as far as I can tell! Honestly there’s almost to many options! I know blasphemy right? lolol Twenty years ago when I was healthy and didn’t have medication brain I probably would have appreciated it a lot more! Most of the time now I just want something that looks and functions without a weeks worth of research and tinkering!
