Can anyone recommend a method to make my garage door a bit more ‘smart’? I have a simple up and over door here in the UK with a the standard key lock, but want to be able to lock/unlock it remotely.
I can’t find much online.

I would probably make a custom device using an ESP8266 running ESPhome and either a servo, magnetic latch of some sort or solenoid. Without seeing the locking mechanism it’s a bit hard to see what would work best
Its a simply barrel lock. I will take a picture but can’t until the weekend.
